Arthur Esch was the person responsible for bringing the NABU Network to the DC Area. Here is the interview where he tells all about how NABU came to be, how he was able to get it to a cable company in Alexandria, Virginia, and other things.
The interview was done over Skype in January 15, 2023. Video editing work was initiated by Scott Brown (RIP), but was completed by his daughter, Skye Brown.
Thanks to NABU in DC for doing this interview and sharing it with the world.
Hot off the press is “NABU Archaeology Part 10 with Leo Binkowski” where Leo discusses his port of Pac-Man for the NABU computer that he created back in the early 1980s:
Thank you to Leo for helping all of us present day NABU PC developers with the ongoing modern development for the NABU computer, making this video and releasing the NABU computer Pac-Man game source code. Waka-Waka!
This is a recorded version of “The Ghost of NABU Past” presentation created by NABU Software Engineering legend Leo Binkowski for the Vintage Computer Festival East that was held on April 14th, 2023 in Wall, NJ.
As an added bonus it’s a “director’s cut”, since Leo added some segments that he had removed to make sure to stay comfortably with the time he was allotted for his VCF East presentation.
A huge thank you to Leo Binkowski for redoing his VCF East talk and for the NABU Network site shout-out around the 37 minute mark.
In this video we check out some NABU computer software, Open Source IshkerCPM (CP/M 2.2), some MSX games ported to the NABU PC, a few homebrew games (Snake and Tetris) and of course the NabuNetwork.com Internet Adapter software updates including the headless option for use with Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Raspberry Pi computers!
Keep an eye on the NabuNetwork.com blog because when we add the updated NABU Network Internet Adapter Software v1.31 to the site for download, it will be ready to rock and roll with Open Source Ishkur CP/M.
As we’ve been saying for months now: NABU forever! This is a nod to our Apple computer peeps… Apple II Forever!
Pretty cool stuff for sure! The NABU Network development team will be adding more arcade games in the next update of our NABU arcade games pack, so stay tuned!
